A trip down memory lane…

Our Suffolk bakery didn’t have the most traditional start. Almost 4 years ago to the day, our small business dream turned into a rather large nightmare when lockdown hit. We had a mobile cafe at a train station and had to close down (along with most businesses across the country).

There was no plan B and things were looking pretty grim. At this moment I had my hare brain idea- why don’t we do doorstep deliveries of brownies? Bean Daddy wasn’t keen on the idea, but he knew how desperate I was to make this work.

I posted a message on a local Facebook group and the rest is history. I’d be lying if I said it has been plain sailing since, but we have met every single challenge that’s come our way with a “can-do” attitude. We’ve also been blessed to have found a real tribe of small business supporters that have held our hand along the way. 

Sometimes life throws you lemons, you end up making a Lemon Meringue Pie and it takes off 🤣. I never had owning a bakery on my bingo card, but it definitely feels like it was what was meant to be. 

We are so thankful to everyone that continues to support our small family business. It really does mean the world to us!
