Bean Daddy and his Christmas jumper debacle…

It’s Christmas Jumper Day and I couldn’t let it pass by without telling you a little story…

Back during lockdown, Bean Daddy and I had scheduled a Christmas photo shoot. Bean Daddy is very much “his own man” when it comes to fashion. He has a rather “eclectic” sort of style (and who am I to get in the way of creative genius). I told him to buy a Christmas jumper (expecting a 99p jobbie from eBay as it was August). NO… oh no… being the King of “Shop Small” and the champion of small business that he is, he went one better. He found a business hand knitting fair isle jumpers on an island off of the coast of Scotland (can’t remember for the life of me the name, but it was remote, put it that way). Fab idea- what’s not to love?

The Christmas jumper in this photo cost more than my wedding dress. Can you actually believe it? I thought he was joking when he told me how much he’d spent. He prefaced it with: ” it’s a jumper for life… I’ll wear it all the time…”- he hasn’t worn it once this season.

Now I’m a firm believer in buying quality items. I’m not one for the fast fashion movement, but there is most definitely a ceiling price (in my mind) when it comes to a Christmas jumper and what he spent was beyond my wildest imagination.

Fingers crossed I’ll get him in it on the big day !
