What a year!

Despite the relentless challenges of 2024, it really has been a remarkable year for our small family business.

As a small business, it’s often too easy to remember when things go wrong and not celebrate the wins, but it’s such an important part of the journey.

In the last 12 months, we are happy to share that our small family business:

  • Celebrated our 5th year in business.
  • Achieved 10,000 followers on Instagram.
  • Nominated for 5 small business awards.
  • Traded at some incredible festivals including Gone Wild with Bear Grylls and Latitude Festival.
  • Won an ad break on Holly Tucker’s podcast.
  • Did a sellout collaboration chocolate bar with The Chocolate Smiths.
  • Were accepted to join the Buy Women Built community.
  • Invited to represent Brownie and the Bean at the Houses Of Parliament.
  • Were invited back to the prestigious Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival and I compered the Main Stage on the Saturday.
  • I recorded a podcast about the challenges of scaling a small business.
  • Hired Kirsty (our new baker).
  • Appeared on BBC news to discuss the cocoa crisis.
  • I spoke at several business events this year (including at Barclays HQ) with specific reference to women in business and mental health in the workplace (which triggered the thought behind the next big idea…).
  • Decided to donate 50p from every box sold in 2025 to Suffolk Mind Charity as a result of speaking at one of their business networking events.
  • Won Family Business of the Year at The Great British Entrepreneur Awards.
  • And finally… We got a brownie cutter for Super Sue- hurray! Which means that we can process lots more orders in a shorter space of time.

None of this would be possible without your ongoing support. We are so thankful that you’re with us on our journey and we’re excited to see where 2025 will take us.
