🏆 Family Business Entrepreneurs of the Year 2024

Christmas through the years with our brownie delivery business…

It’s incredible looking back at our brownie delivery business at Christmas through the years at BATB HQ. Everyone gives it their all and puts their heart and soul into making your loved one’s treats. Nothing makes us happier than hearing how we’ve become part of your Christmas traditions and brightened up your festive feasting.

Of course we’ve had some seriously difficult times too:

🎄 2020 – Bean Daddy handing over only one fridge’s worth of gifts to the courier on the last posting day. Cue me driving like a bat outta hell to reach the courier depot before the lorry left. I’m not kidding, I saw the lorry pulling out and road blocked it… The driver came running out and said “you’re the brownie lady, I was just about to leave”… PHEW!
🎄2021 – Second year of the pandemic and online sales are down. Bean Daddy and I averaged 8 markets a weekend (with the two babies in tow) trying to make ends meet.
🎄 2022 – The dreaded Royal Mail strikes! We had a couple thousand parcels MIA. This volume took us weeks to do and we physically didn’t have the time to replace them all before Christmas day. We just kept the faith that a miracle will happen and it did. They all arrived. Within minutes of realising they’d all found their homes and Christmas 2022 had been completed, Bean Daddy and I broke out with the flu 😷, absolutely typical!
🎄 2023 – We were totally staffed up this year and it was all looking promising, however we’d taken on a HUGE wholesale customer at the same time and we were a bit stretched (to say the least). Obviously we pulled it out of the bag 😘!
🎄 2024 – SO many lessons learned. Mistakes not to be repeated. We’re in our best shape ever as a business and looking forward to putting all of our learnings into practice!

Thank you all for your support. We are so grateful that we get to do a job we love, with people we love, every day xx
