📸 Luton Airport, May 2019
Â
This was us 5 years ago as we set off for a family holiday to Italy. It was a really special holiday for us because it was our final break before we opened our business.
Â
Upon arriving at the airport, our son cut his tongue in half and we ended up in A&E. He then stayed awake for 2 weeks solid (the whole holiday). Our daughter also wasn’t very well and ended up having an operation as soon as we got back.
Â
You couldn’t write it!
Â
Definitely not the “relaxing break” we’d dreamt of before we were about to risk it all by starting our own business. Such is life!
Â
We didn’t know where the business was going to take us at this point. We just both knew it was something that we really wanted to do. Boy, if we’d have had a crystal ball to tell us what the next 12 months had in store, I don’t think we’d have believed it! I definitely didn’t have owning a brownie bakery on my bingo card!
Our brownie bakery has now been in production for 5 years…
Â
So much has happened in the last 5 years, but the one thing that has remained throughout is our passion for what we do. Don’t get me wrong, some days we have a few wobblers, but we feel SO lucky to be doing what we do!
Â
I can’t quite believe we’re approaching 5 years with our business. It really feels like an enormous achievement to have made it to this point.
Â
We’ve got a seriously busy 2nd half of the year, but it’s important to look back and reflect on the journey.
Â
Thank you all for continuing to support our small family business. It means the world that we get to do this every day!

Big brownie love,
