Over the past couple of weeks, there has been a lot of discussion about ultra-processed foods. There is no denying the damage it does to your body.
Here at Brownie and the Bean, we absolutely passionate about eating the best produce. That’s why we make almost every single ingredient that goes into our handcrafted cakes and bakes.
From the candied oranges, to the shortbread, jams, honeycomb and much much more… We pride ourselves on the handcrafted aspect of our produce.
To give you an example of what this means in real terms: in our first year of launch, we unseasonably found ourselves doing a Christmas photoshoot in July. We decided to use a fancy supermarket’s mincemeat as we didn’t have any of our own in stock. The list of ingredients on the label were astounding. We compared this to our own recipe and there were infinite additions that didn’t need to be there.
Doing the job that Bean Daddy and I do, we feel a need to explain why a box of our brownies costs more than a packet from Marks’. But the answer is simple: if you’re looking to treat colleagues and loved ones, check the ingredients list. It’s very easy to see that we use simple ingredients. We take the care and attention to turn it into something beautiful. No nasties are used and everything we make is handcrafted to perfection.
The proof (as they say) is in the pudding!
