Fudgey Chocolate Brownies

Phwoar… if fudgey chocolate brownies make you feel all a-quiver, you’re in the right place!

We have been making this secret fudgey family recipe for a very long time. It was passed on from Luke’s mother to us and we’ve been hooked ever since! Luke’s mother spent years and years tweaking her recipe, before eventually handing it over to us. In turn, we spent months further tweaking the recipe to get the consistency that you see today.

So how do we make our chocolate brownies super fudgey? Well that would be giving away our secret, but what we can say is; Luke can tell if the brownie batter is cooked just by looking at it through the oven door. Talk about a super power. It’s all about getting the right oven temperature, the right duration, and not overworking the batter.

Our base chocolate brownie is the foundation of nearly everything we create. We love to experiment with different handcrafted sauces, coulis, jams and toppings, but getting the best fudgey, chocolate brownie base is absolutely key.

So many people ask for our recipe. Some people even have very inventive ways of trying to get it out of us, but the truth is, the recipe is as unique as the person baking it. Every single oven works slightly different and every person makes things in a slightly different way.

We may open up the doors of our bakery in the summer and run some master classes for some of our newsletter subscribers, but until then, the best way for you to taste our secret recipe, is by buying from our online shop, or through our stockists.

Here at Brownie and the Bean, we love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to tell us any new flavours you’d like to see us make in the future. We’re always grateful to receive new ideas!

Two fudgey chocolate brownies are sliced in half to show the profile of flavours. There are dollops of Lotus Biscoff Blondie and there are Lotus Biscoff Biscuits on top and in vision. The background is pink and they're sitting on a terracotta surface.
